Gunilla Hulth-Backlund is Director-General of the TLV. Approximately 60 people work at the office and within the agency we have two Boards with decision-making powers: the Board for Pharmaceutical Benefits, and the Board for Dental Benefits.

The Board for Pharmaceutical Benefits rules on pricing and reimbursement for new medicine and other products which are part of the reimbursement system.

The Board for Dental Benefits rules on which dental care shall be reimbursed, how high the benefits level shall be in the high cost threshold as well as on reference prices used for various dental procedures.

Units within the TLV

The agency is divided into four units and one project unit.

• Pharmacy Project

The pharmacy project has been formed due to our responsibilities in connection with the reregulated pharmacy market.

Our Lead Legal Advisor and HR manager report directly to the Director-General.
